Atlassian Williams Racing
For the first time ever in Formula One history, all ten cars were unveiled together in London for the 2025 season launch. Atlassian Williams Racing’s striking new FW47 is now ready to hit the track, proudly displaying the Komatsu logo. With a shared history dating back to the 1990s, 2025 marks the second year of this modern partnership, and there is plenty to look forward to both on and off the track…
The inaugural year of the partnership saw activations across five continents and at almost every race on the calendar. With six Atlassian Williams Racing personnel appearances at Komatsu facilities around the world – and another two at trade shows – the alliance was brought even closer to the heart of the business through meaningful interactions between the two organisations. As well as experiences at Komatsu facilities, employees participated in the ‘Day in the Life’ initiative at eight races, giving selected Komatsu personnel a taste of what life is like trackside with the team. While employees were getting hands on, Komatsu guests were also welcomed into the Grand Prix Paddock Club – providing them with a world-class experience and memories to last a lifetime.
2025 will build on the foundations of 2024, while also venturing into new areas. The announcement of the Komatsu-Williams Engineering Academy and its participants at the end of last year reflects the dedication from both companies towards the next generation of STEM careers. Ten individuals will have access to resources and workshops from both brands, allowing them to have invaluable hands-on experience across the engineering sector.
The partnership has already been recognised in some of sponsorship’s most prestigious awards, securing a nomination in the ‘Best Sponsorship > €5M’ category at the European Sponsorship Association (ESA) Awards, and made a notable appearance at the Autosport Awards.
“After such a successful first year together, it is safe to say that all of us at Komatsu are looking forward to year two of the partnership,” said Todd Connolly, Vice President of Global Brand Transformation at Komatsu. “Reuniting two brands with such deep-rooted histories in their respective spaces was no small feat but we managed to do it in spectacular style in 2024, and there is plenty more to come this year. With 24 races and plenty of off-track opportunities, we are excited to continue the journey that we started last year.”
“2025 is the second year of partnership between us here at Atlassian Williams Racing and Komatsu. To continue working with a global brand with such similar values, like Komatsu, reflects in the work that we are doing together off track,” said James Southerland, Head of Partnerships at Atlassian Williams Racing. “Considering this is only year two, we already have plenty to shout about. Starting off the next part of our journey together with an event like F1 75 Live is the perfect reflection of how big this year is going to be, and we can’t wait to see what is in store.”
